How We Started

The founders of Featherdustr were career educators. After purchasing their own vacation rental, they were faced with the challenge of finding a quality cleaner for their property. Many of the cleaning "companies" we reached out to were simply a one or two-person operation, which left them with a sense of dread about what would happen if that one cleaner was not available for a quick turnover of their home before the next group of guests arrived. The other option was large-scale cleaning companies with no real focus or true understanding of what was necessary to operate a vacation rental. Given the limited solutions to the major problem they faced as vacation rental owners, they decided to create their own vacation rental-focused cleaning company to help other short-term rental owners like themselves. Along the way, they have fallen in love with being active and effective hosts, earning superhost status every quarter since listing their first vacation property. They have captured their best practices and created efficient procedures that empower their cleaners to provide clients and their guests a 5-star clean, which helps them earn more 5-star reviews!
